The Brinell / Knoop / Vickers hardness tester series Qness 60 EVO takes micro hardness testing to a whole new level: The high-end laboratory devices of the latest generation combine the best of both worlds – hardness testing and microscopy without compromise and with maximum operating convenience. The revolutionary optical system with color camera provides reproducible and reliable results every time.

The innovative "A" model of this Brinell / Knoop / Vickers hardness tester promises perfect automation and comes with a high-precision positioning control for all three axis systems. Flexible XYZ progressions for thousands of analysis points allow for exceptionally high throughput without operator intervention.

The “A+” version includes a built-in sample image camera for unbeatable operating convenience. The “A” version of the Qness 60 EVO can be upgraded to “A+” by equipping it with the second camera system at a later date.

  • Amazing 3D CAD User Interface

    Intuitive, structured and professional. The Qpix Control2 software ushers in a new generation of hardness testing software. It has been developed based on customer input and feedback to guarantee maximum user-friendliness. Extensive use of 3D CAD drawings provide the user with a unique experience that is easy to follow.

    Auto-stop vs. Test All Points

    Users are in total control of how the micro hardness tester performs its testing. When using Auto-stop, the tester will indent, then read, then indent, then read, allowing the test to stop once a specific hardness value is reached. Users can also program the number of indents to perform after this limit has been hit. The other method is to perform all indents first, then optically read all. The choice is yours.

    Auto-Snap and Edge Recognition

    Auto-Snap is a standard feature for quickly creating test patterns. Simply drag the pattern close to the sample edge and the software will automatically align the traverse.

    The optional Edge Recognition module is the perfect add-on if you will be using templates for same parts testing extensively. With the Edge Recognition module you only need to roughly position your saved testing template to the sample edge and the software will automatically align the test points for you.

    Hardness Color Maps in 2D/3D

    The optional 2D/3D Mapping Module allows you to create beautiful hardness color maps in 2D or 3D for use in presentations.

    Users can easily create a contour line for their sample and define the density of the testing grid allowing test patterns of 100s or 1000s of indents depending on how many data points are desired.

    Rotatable Indenter

    The operator can define a contour path, then during testing the indenter will automatically rotate and remain parallel to the defined contour. Great for testing of different material layers.

    In addition to rotating along a contour, the rotatable indenter is also great for keeping the indenter in a specific position for case depth lines, regardless of where the sample is positioned in the sample holder.

    Vertical Concept with Two Z-Axes

    There are decisive benefits in distributing vertical movement across 2 axes. Via the first Z-axis there is dynamic motion control, allowing the indenter to be positioned towards the test surface quickly and conveniently at up to 30mm/s. The additional second Z-axis in the QATM system offers a high-resolution positioning system for greater precision in force application and focusing.

    All 3 axes are equipped with the direct, optical path measuring system as standard. The axes and turret can be positioned to an accuracy of 1.5 μm, so even thin layers, or special testing or analytical coordinates, can be repeatedly and accurately approached.
